Wranglers Sign NORCAL Standout
June 18, 2009 – The Rogue Valley Wranglers announced today that they have officially signed Chris Whitten to a NORPAC tender. Whitten is a 6' 2" 185 lb. centerman hailing from Vacaville, CA. He played last season with the Vacaville Jets Midget Major of the NORCAL Youth Hockey Legue, where he tallied 48 goals and 25 assists for a total of 73 points. Whitten has led his previous teams in the goals or assists category in each of his last six seasons.
The Wranglers first scouted Chris at a Midget tournament last season where he had over 20 points in just five games and led his team to the Championship. He will bring a very competitive edge and a lot of scoring power to the Wranglers front line. "My goal is for the Wranglers to excel and to make the playoffs" stated Whitten. With the addition of Whitten and other prospects, the Wranglers look to be very competitive next season.
Season Tickets Early Bird Special
June 10, 2009 – The Rogue Valley Wranglers announced today that they will be offering an "Early Bird Special" on 2009-10 Season Tickets. Fans who purchase their season tickets between June 10th and July 1st will receive a special discount. General Admission season tickets will be just $150 down from the regular price of $173. While Youth and Senior tickets will go for just $95 which is down from the regular $110. All in all, this is a savings of nearly 25% when compared to a full season of purchasing tickets at the door.
Season ticket holders will also enjoy some new benefits this season including a private meet and greet with the players and coaches, separate entrance at admissions, personalized I.D. cards, and Friends/Family vouchers. Wranglers Sign New Talent
June 3 , 2009 – The Rogue Valley Wranglers announced today that they have added two talented players to their arsenal for the upcomming season. The Wranglers have officially signed defenseman Vincent Ciaglo and forward Michael Feagan to NORPAC tenders.
Vincent Ciaglo '91- Vincent is a 5' 11" 177 lb. defenseman who can join the scoring rush and be used as a forward when needed. Ciaglo is a native of Las Vegas, NV where he played last season with the Las Vegas Stars U18 AAA team. The Wranglers first came across Vincent last year at the Las Vegas Global showcase where he excelled and impressed the Wranglers Scouts. "We are very excited to have Vinnie on board" Said Wranglers GM, Kevin Schwartz.
He will add a lot of skill and physicallity to the Wranglers defensive core. We are expecting him to be an impact and play a key role in the Wranglers future success." added Schwartz. Ciglo is looking forward to breaking into the junior scene and having a big season. "I'm looking forward to being a leader on the team this year. With my hard work and the hard work of others, I feel like we can really turn this team around. I'm looking forward to playing for Cheli and am excited to be a part of the Rogue Valley Wranglers Organization." Said Ciaglo.
Michael Feagan '90- Michael is a 5' 9" 200 lb. forward from St. Albert, Alberta. A native of Inuvik, Northwest Territories Feagan finished his minor hockey with the St. Albert Cruisaders where he was the Captain and netted 25 points in his final season. On past teams, Michael has been noted for his strong leadership ability and excellent hockey sense. He was previously selected to the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League North Division All-Star team.
He is currently on the scouting lists for several Alberta Junior Hockey League teams. The Wranglers are looking forward to a big season from Feagan and giving him the opportunity to fine tune his skills and possibly move on to the AJHL. He is expected to be a positive influence on Wranglers youngsters and brings a very strong work ethic to the team.

Wranglers Announce New Head Coach
May 2 , 2009 – The search is over. The Rogue Valley Wranglers announced today that they have signed Steve Chelios to a three year contract as Head Coach. Steve Comes to the Wranglers with 13 years of coaching experience at various levels, including Junior A. Prior to his coaching career, Chelios enjoyed a professional playing career spanning over 12 years. Steve has won championships with the Quad City Mallards of the Colonial Hockey League (defunct) and the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League. Steve is also the brother of NHL star Chris Chelios.
"We are very exciting to have Steve on-board" said Wranglers GM, Kevin Schwartz. "We are in need of a good season here in the Rogue Valley and I feel this is a huge step in the right direction" he added. Chelios' most recent Head Coaching Assignment was with the Laconia Leafs of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League in 2006-07. In the summer of 2008, steve served as a conditioning and skills instructor for the Florida Panthers of the NHL during their summer pre-camp training.
Chelios and the Wranglers scouting staff will be getting started right away with the task of filling the Wranglers 2009-10 roster with high caliber players. The Wranglers have already begun the process in signing two prospects

Wranglers Attend Pear Blossom
April 23 , 2009 – The Rogue Valley Wranglers recently setup their display for the second straight year at the Medford Pear Blossom Festival. The booth was a success in drawing the attention of many local residents. This year, the Wranglers raffled off two free season tickets. The drawing saw over 200 entries over two days. The lucky winner was Craig Owen of White City, OR. Congratulations Craig! The Wranglers would also like to say a big Thank You to volunteers Dennis Lund and Bruce and Abbye Rogers for their help in a successful event.
Wranglers Announce Camp Dates
March 23 , 2009 – The Rogue Valley Wranglers Main Tryout Camp for the 2009-10 season will be held August 6-9 at The RRRink in Medford, OR. There will be a goaltenders only session on Thursday August 6 prior to the start of regular camp. This season the Wranglers Main Camp will be Open Registration with minimal restrictions. The cost for camp is$175 per player.

Wranglers Bring On Scouting Staff
March 21 , 2009 – As a part of the Wranglers effort to turn things around by next season, Management has recruited and hired 10 Regional Scouts from all across the U.S. and Canada. These qualified individuals will be instrumental in ensuring that the Wranglers Main Camp is attended by a large group of high caliber players. The Wranglers also hope to bring in a larger number of players from different regions of the U.S. Overall, next season's crop of newcomers is shaping up to be the best yet. Season Comes to an End
March 1 , 2009 – The 2008-2009 season is over. The Wranglers finished a 3 game series in Spokane playing the Coeur d'Alene Lakers. Unfortunately the Wranglers lost all three games. In the last game there were only 11 Wranglers playing against the full Coeur d'Alene Laker squad. The ending players were: Josef Chase, Joe Summa, Sam Jossie, Tyler Fitchner, Chad Steiner, Aaron Riemersma, Jeff Purslow, Chance Robison, Jared Blanton, SJ Graupensberger, and Chris Kramer. Chris Kramer did not play goalie rather he played the ice leaving the goalie duties to SJ and Jared. He played a great game.
The Wranglers want to thank all the great, loyal fans, for your support. Although it was a disappointing season, the Wrangler fans are the best in all of the Pacific Division of NorPac. The Wranglers have plans for a great 2009-2010 season. Please stay tuned to this website for more information.
