Where We Are

Welcome to MedfordMedford is located 27 miles north of the California border between Portland and San Francisco. At 1,382 feet above sea level, Medford is surrounded by mountains producing a mild climate with an annual average rainfall of 18-20 inches.

Seasonally appropriate temperatures are generally mild, with three to four inches of snow reaching the valley floor annually. Winter temperatures average 36 degrees. Medford summers are warm, with a median temperature of 94 degrees and an average of 15 days over 100 degrees.

Education

Medford School District 549C, is Oregon's eighth largest district. Students are provided a high-quality teaching and learning experience at the two area High Schools, North Medford High and South Medford High.

Rogue Community College serves Jackson and Josephine counties with campuses in Medford and Grants Pass, as well as a professional/technical education campus in White City. Rogue Community College offers lower-division academic courses, culminating in five two-year degrees for 4,500 full-time students every year.

Southern Oregon University's downtown Medford campus offers it's full and part-time students lower and upper division coursework as well as graduate courses. Southern Oregon University's Main Campus covers 175 acres just 12 miles south in Ashland. Surrounded by rugged mountains, rivers and lakes, it is home to 5,478 students from around the world.

Medford and the surrounding Rogue Valley area are home to many golf courses, skiing on 7,533 ft. Mt. Ashland, world-class water recreation opportunities on the Rogue River, camping and hiking at Crater Lake National Park and in the Siskyou National Forest, a variety of amusement centers, miles of bike paths/trails, and so much more.

Getting Here

The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport, is our regional airport with four airline carriers providing over 50 flights daily. Enjoy non-stop jet service to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. Getting around town is convenient with public transportation services from the Rogue Valley Transportation District.
